Has anyone read “The Picture of Dorian Gray”? If so, did you also find it awfully boring in the beginning? Wilde is setting up the story and getting the scene set for action I’m assuming, but his prose leaves me wanting for more. The pacing is also slow. Please tell me it gets better 🥹

Went on a date yesterday. It was nice. Nothing felt wrong. But when I left, I sat by the sea alone and realized I wasn’t looking forward to seeing that person again. And that’s what confuses me.
