It depends on the job and your level within the organization. I’ve had jobs that would have alcohol on company lunches, and I’ve had jobs where we could order alcohol with the lunch, but we had to pay separately for the alcohol. But for the most part, American workers take shorter lunch breaks with barely enough time to enjoy our food, let alone a glass of wine. For me, after a mid-day glass of wine, I’d want to nap so… I miss long lunch breaks!
