A reminder that it’s totally possible to feel completely alone, even if you have a great social net, friends and supportive family. Addressing those feelings is vital to maintaining good mental health.

It’s Lesbian Visibility Week, U-Haulers! Now is the perfect time to make more sapphic friends. This week celebrates our diversity, and as the community shows up for one another, it is a great chance to catch one or two to add to your roster of friends. If you are partnered or not looking to date, finding a new circle can feel like a challenge. With 60% of lesbian bars having closed recently, traditional ways of meeting are shifting. The community remains resourceful. DIY events are popping up worldwide. From Justin Bieber look-alike contests to masc nights and sports leagues like soccer or softball, these niche spaces offer high energy for building community. They are the perfect way to meet people who share your frequency without dating pressure. Collective acts as the digital mess hall for this global campground of queers. It is a queer-run social platform for meeting new people based on shared interests rather than swipes. The app helps members take conversations offline and find their tribe. To find queer women this week, use the Women filter in the Browse People section. Remember to set your intentions to friends when following new people to keep the vibes clear.

'War' hits harder when your reflection in the mirror resembles it, and when the battle in your homeland, miles away, intertwines with you inner turmoil, no escape remains. You find comfort in watching your soul bleed. You are now used to the smell of blood, because no matter how far you run, war never leaves you.

I think the healthiest thing you can do when you don’t feel attractive, nor chosen, nor seen. To stop looking for validation externally in the forms of complains towards dating, society, life. I see it in the community when people make comments about how people behave in dating apps, or how people are in general. And I find it kind of funny. We have such easy to hurt egos that when someone says no we hide in a corner and shrink ourselves, blaming the world. Hahaha… I think once you accept no one owes you presence, love, security, nor being chosen you truly become free.

The energy we spend running after people could be soo much better be invested in ourselves. But still we run, again and again.

Rarely get my period so it’s super fun when I go to work and be visibly angry and crash out for 10 hrs a day every few months.

: I heard a song when I was four-years-old. A guitar thrusting powerful chords, Donna Summer belting, yearning for a lover; a four-on-the-floor rhythm that drove energy into everyone’s feet. I knew little then, but still at that age I learned how naturally my body responded to a heavy bass, an electrifying melody, and the pleasure that could bring me; how easily the sight of others moving too could well me up with contagious joy. It would be nearly thirty years til I’d hear that song again in a crowded room filled with strangers, hundreds of us singing along, dancing to the very same track that taught me the power of music. I’m sure all those people had experienced what I had before, and a whole generation before me too. All of us discovering joy at a young age and finding it again in a place where we could all be free. We felt it rushing through our veins. It’s been coursing there since we were four-years-old. The chorus began: Donna Summer looking for a lover and a guitar cutting somewhere deep within us. We let our souls bleed out on the dance floor, and everywhere it was disco, disco, disco.

Genuinely pisses me the fuck off how most men react to the mention of twilight. If that shit was never marketed to teen girls I recon they’d eat it up too.

all I ever want is for my gym crush to ask me for a drink. We lock eyes multiple times when we’re at gym at the same time. I am certain we’d have nothing in common but it would be very nice to be asked out for once :)

I’ve never felt so seen until now. When the engineer on my team says he feels bad for me, given that I have the 2 “projects from hell” and the worst ones in the office. He just validated that all this shit isn’t me, but the projects 🤧
