I feel extremely lonely at times. My friends now all have kids so we don’t see/text/game with each other as much.

Sometimes yea especially since my friends have moved further away last few years. Trying to make more friends locally but so hard as an adult 😭. Usually just go out for a run to get myself out of my funk.

@kings_world the best way I have to say I love you to someone is to cook for them. So yes I love hosting my friends. The hardest part it fixing a date everyone is available

No tea no shade, this app has started making me feel lonely.. I just put on a stiff upper lip and say screw them who don’t like me or don’t get me. The ones for me will come, and I power through stay being myself. 🫶🏽 🫶🏽 💅🏽 then I focus on my dreams and call out to the universe for the other dreamers. ❤️

Often. I call a friend, engage on social media, get out of the house for a bike ride, or find something to occupy my mind. If all else fails, I sleep.

I do! Especially living on the other side of the world from my family. Podcasts help a lot. ❤️

I tend to find a new recipe and cook. It makes me feel creative and I get rewarded with good food!

I accept that there is nothing wrong with feeling lonely! Company (romantic or otherwise) doesn’t guarantee you don’t feel lonely. Once I stopped thinking of loneliness as something to fix/ address, my life began to feel much easier.

Yes, I try to engage in something creative. Like plan a cozy time with myself, drawing while listening to my favorite artists, crocheting while watching my favorite shows, things that get me excited to just get home and be with myself after a long day of work or a slow weekend.

@casbahmike I agree! Sometimes at the end of the day you just need a good snooze every now and then! 😊

Going to the cinema. A room full of people at the distance of a ticket. And you might even end up enjoying the movie. 😉

Loneliness is a reaction to real or perceived isolation. It once kept our ancestors safe by ensuring they had people nearby to protect them. While the need for companionship remains important, the risks are much lower now, as there are no longer giant predators to threaten us if we wander alone. Despite these changes, the strong feeling of isolation persists. Society often attributes loneliness to not being in a relationship, marriage, or cohabitation. single=lonely Society tells us being single is bad, and our language reinforces negative self-talk. While emotions are separate from the rational mind, I constantly tell myself I am safe while hugging myself. I also rely heavily on close friends and have others that provide safe and health romantic connections. I also go on frequent walks too because it keeps me out of my head. I balance loneliness with the fact that I don’t need a co-habitating partner. I don’t want one now, but having various healthy connections is crucial to avoiding the negative side of loneliness. I refuse the term ‘single’ because it implies something is wrong with me. SOLO has given me confidence and grounding knowing that I am a complete person by myself!
