There are a lot of reasons I’ve been a loner. Being a SAHP is one of them. Most people I’ve been friends with didn’t have kids, and over stepped many boundaries. I’ve gone many years with untreated ADHD, as well as PTSD from a DV situation. I’ve been in therapy now for 3 years, but just over a year ago my bestfriend passed away. He was also queer, and we were bestfriends for almost 20 years. I’ve been hiding more than ever, refusing to even attempt to talk to people. I’ve lost more friends in that isolation. I know this isn’t a life decision he would’ve wanted me to make. He was an extremely outgoing person. I have to live life for him, and find some happiness while I still can. I’m taking a chance here to talk to like minded individuals as myself, and hopefully meet a few good people that I know still exist out there. Feel free to come say hi. 🖤

social moral high grounds—that make people forget that they should not be judging another human being. Entitlement, informed by dehumanizing logics. With time I’ve learned to not hand over my humanity to people. It’s not up for debate. Like what are we doing here? Grabbing groceries, getting a bite, filling up the gas tank. Then do THAT. We’re not here to debate my humanity—nor yours. I write this as a reminder to you. Do not let anyone deminish you. Do not let someone else’s judgment create shame within you.

I love the cute little things human don’t have to do but still do like “bless you” after sneeezes or holding the door for others✨

I’ve always been kind of bad at socializing. Not in a dramatic way. I just never really learned how people naturally make friends or stay connected with each other. Even social media feels foreign to me. I rarely have the desire to post, appear online, or remind people that I exist. So over time I got used to being alone. Nature, long walks, silence, random thoughts became my normal life. And most days I’m okay with it. But sometimes I wonder if I got too comfortable in isolation. I’m not getting younger, and I honestly don’t know if this is simply who I am now or if connection is something you can still learn later in life?

Avoiding the Pride Tax: How to celebrate Pride 2026 on a budget The Pride Tax is the inevitable financial weight that accompanies the June season. Between travel, event tickets, and the pressure to look special for each party, the costs can feel like a mandatory fee to celebrate. However, navigating Pride should not require a massive bank balance. One of the most effective ways to save is through community resource sharing. Collective members can use the Trips feature to find roommates or carpool partners to split the costs of travel. And, when it comes to looking good, closet swapping with other Collective members is a brilliant way to refresh a wardrobe without the retail cost. Beyond big commercial events, members can organize their own DIY festivals and private park parties. Volunteering for local LGBTQ+ organizations and their Pride events is another great tip to see shows and artists for free while giving back. Collective is free to join, so lean on us for your Pride organizing. By focusing on connection over consumption, the community can bypass the Pride Tax and focus on what matters.

In need of creative friends. I love the friends I have, don’t get me wrong. They’re irreplaceable, but, not having other friends that get the creative lifestyle and trying to expand and collaborate with other artists can be tough when your circle isn’t in that crowd. That’s why I downloaded this app. If there’s one thing I know about the gays is that we invented creativity, and I’m hoping that i find my people through it :) This is an invitation hahahah

The queer award at Cannes is causing a stir? The Cannes Film Festival is a peak of global cinema, but its most openly queer moment happens entirely off the official books. The Queer Palm is an independently sponsored, unofficial award. Since 2010, it has been crashing the festival to recognize films with LGBTQ+ themes. While it provides a vital pedestal for our stories, it also sparks a fiery debate in the creative world: does a separate award celebrate queer art or just ghettoize it? As the 2026 festival closes, more queer-centered films are competing for the main honor of the Palme d’Or. This shift raises the question: is a specific prize still a necessary spotlight or just an invisible cage? For the writers, artists and designers in our Collective community, this is a conversation about whether our art should be viewed as universal or kept in curated corners. The unofficial status of the Queer Palm reflects a resilient history of making our own space when the establishment refused to build one. Is a separate award progress, or is it a barrier to being seen as world-class cinema?

My distaste in a lot of today’s gay men is valid. In the current climate, it is unacceptable to not be unapologetically QUEER & OUT. We have spent decades curating a safe world for young gay men to come out and unless you live in an underdeveloped country, SHAME on you for still being in that closet. You want to honor your family’s name more than you want to honor yourself. You are afraid of losing an unsupportive system you’ve been stuck in since a child. And you are doing such a disservice to our community by not openly engaging in queer culture. I know to some of you it sounds tone deaf, I understand the need to protect yourself against homophobia. But at what point are you going to force those cycles to stop? At what point are you going to stop giving these heteros what they want. For you to be invisible. For you to be eliminated. QUEER UP & not just on pride. Not just in our clubs. IN YOUR HOMES. AT WORK. IN YOUR FAMILIES. QUEER UP🏳️‍🌈
