About

Tonight my chamber choir performed this piece by Karen Marrolli. My conductor dedicated it to Minneapolis. All it took was that simple dedication to change this seemingly sentimental piece into a protest. I couldn’t cry during the performance, but I sure as hell cried when I got home. "Grant us gentleness in power. Grant us strength to face this hour, to forgive, to offer grace, and nurture peace in every place. Grant us hope when all seems dire. Grant us faith to spark a fire, to fiercely burn, to drown the night, and set the world ablaze with light. … Grant us courage to be kind. Grant us singleness of mind to free the world from hate and fear, so only love is spoken here.”

Watching Titanic for the first time in a very long time and my first thought is - Bill Paxton would get it! There’s a charming Han Solo-ish quality about him.

Saw a group of teens hop on the last train carriage so they could hang off the back. Was never me, but weirdly nostalgic to see. Glad kids are still on their bullshit

I recently joined a basketball league just to be active. And I’m on a team with complete strangers I ain’t never played with. Tell me why last night my team got blown out by 40 and my shoes fell apart 😭. The team we played looked like they been playing together for years. Felt like we were playing the golden state warriors.

Fellow gays, I want to start building muscle and I’m starting from scratch. What advice do you have? Any workout routines that really worked for you? How do I lose the nerves over going to the gym on my own?

What are your turn offs In people generally? Me it’s… Critical judgment/fatigue. Lack of understanding in boundaries. People who often misunderstand and you have to constantly re-explain. People who undermine/limit you. Gossip/messy people who enjoy mess. People who often assume the worst, off of not knowing the person. General corruption. People who act one way, then play shady when your not there. Performative people. People who always instigate, and who play the fool after. And people who lack any feeling, who see emotion as weak. What’s yours?

Did it also happen to you guys that growing up you’ve felt so isolated that now you doubt the world and all the wonder it has to offer? I feel like I’m removing deep layers of limiting beliefs, I’m somehow outgrowing the city, my lifestyle and specially the way I show up and it’s so interesting to question everything. I feel connected to people more than ever 🥲 and growing up I felt isolated, alone and unloveable. What is life?

I started watching Looking almost by accident. I’d just finished another very hyped series that’s currently dominating pop culture spaces, and I found myself strangely conflicted. I understand the appeal. It’s emotionally immediate, addictive, and designed to be consumed quickly. But on a structural and narrative level, it feels thin. Superficial. Built around trope recognition rather than genuine exploration. After talking with some friends, I started Looking, and the contrast was immediate. Looking is invested in character interiority, contradiction, and observation. Its writing allows space for silence, hesitation, and unresolved tension. People exist outside of romance, with desires that evolve and identities that aren’t reduced to who they’re sleeping with. The show isn’t chasing payoff. What frustrates me isn’t that people enjoy the shallow thing. Enjoyment is valid. It’s that we collectively elevate work that offers so little psychological and thematic depth, while stories willing to engage with complexity remain secondary.

I think a nice feature would be to add interest groups, where people can join and discuss certain topics 😋 ( Unless there is one please let me knowww)

Everytime I hear “Les Fleurs” by Minnie Riperton it feels like rebirth during the spring equinox. It’s the song that plays when the underdog is finally the champion. Like everything I want and need is finally reaching me. Feeling light, free and content. It feels like California sun on my skin.
