About

I’m looking for love. I’ve been looking for love. I’ve had three major relationships and my last one ended in May 2023. I’ve learned a lot about what I want — and what I don’t. I don’t like brunch with 10 of my boyfriend’s closest friends. I don’t want to be chastised for peeling my socks off before bed and throwing them toward the hamper. I want to wake up on Saturday and leave the house by 9 a.m. or the whole day feels ruined. I want someone who loves my cats. Those are the small things. The bigger thing is simpler: I want a shared life. I want to move through the world in the same direction as someone else. Dating apps have become notoriously hard to navigate — an overwhelming abundance paired with a strange lack of real options. I was exhausted by spending my day texting a dozen people just to ask how their days went and maybe not hearing back from any of them. I knew there had to be a simpler, bolder way. No apps. No profiles. No algorithms. So I made a sign. (Full story on HuffPost →)

At the job site today an electrician commented on my earrings, unprompted, saying “you’ve got rubies in today. I saw you had emeralds earlier this week” before walking away and I’m not sure if I was just flirted with or bullied lol

Today I launched a new Substack. I'm focusing it on community-based queer stories and the first, looking at HIV and the beauty industry, is now live I've been thinking about doing something like this for a while, and with some more downtime on my hands lately I decided to go for it. I'm combining all my experience in broadcasting, print and digital media, as well as social media to tell stories that are about something tangible and real, grassroots-type stuff. And not just in London, either! It's very much a work in progress, but it's up and running! If you're able to support in anyway, I'd be incredibly grateful. And if you have any stories, get in touch! «The one who’s in love always wins. It doesn’t matter if you get your heart broken, you’re living. When you’re feeling, you’re alive. The sun doesn’t care wether the grass appreciates its rays, right? It just keeps on shining. That’s you.» - Ethan Hawke.

Imagine leaving your country out of fear of being bombed and being dragged into conflicts you can’t control to go to safer, more stable regions, only to find you either experience racism and alienation or the threat of war again. This is the Arab experience, consistently determined by western imperialistic goals and ideology.

If you’d were really happy with your life, you wouldn’t be looking for someone else to fill the voids for you. If you’re single, and dating apps aren’t working. It’s time to put yourself really out there and mingle with the rest of humans doing life out there. Phones disconnected us from our truth, we are meant to be connected physically.

Right so I while ago I was super late to work because I was getting a possum off a busy road, then my grandpa fell and broke his leg saving a possum and to top it off last night dad was trying to help a baby fruit bat and was bitten. Will update if more of my immediate family chose to care about a random wild animal more than themselves

Hi. I usually get anxiety attacks from certain shorter events with specific triggers, but lately I have steady anxiety that last for days. Does anyone know ways to ground oneself well? I am constantly all warm and can’t think straight with chest pain and can’t formulate myself well. Workout doesn’t really help, slow deep breaths works in the moment.

Officially am off of dating apps, mainly because I’ve learned. I’m not going to find my ideal love on those apps, and the apps haven’t been good on my mental health generally. Hookup culture is one of the main reasons I quick online dating, it really burns you out. It’s also a bad habit. The other reason, I just kept coming across icky people. Who only cared for hookups, and one night stands. I decided to post this, just to see if anyone is experiencing the same feelings. I’m in this odd stage of knowing what I want with love, I just know I haven’t found what I’m looking for yet. I would like to though, genuine companionship seems nice when the couple has genuine love for each other.

Why do we let a handful of out-of-touch old douchebags take our countries to war, enact invasive mass surveillance, and otherwise trample on our liberties? This isn’t just a US problem as we’ve seen with the Epstein files. I dare say that the average citizen everywhere just wants to live peacefully and get along with one another. We need to be louder and stop letting the “elite” in government, finance, and tech control our lives.

Today I saw this woman, and her two kids sitting in the subway. She looked tired, happy yet, tired. She was comforting the baby that was in a bad mood, she gave him cuddles, and the cuddles calmed him down. And I noticed myself, noticing her. And a part of me longing to say. You’re doing so well, thank you for being such a good mother. I got off in my station, said nothing. But my heart had so much to say… That act of kindness touched me.

I think that in most cases for gays to form emotional connections with someone (befriend), they deadass have to somewhat deem the other physically attractive…. And then there’s proximity connection

Is it Bad to Want it Again I ran back for the sleepless nights, The chase that left me speechless, The game we landed on the hillside. Every time we felt on edge, Or like this would be the last time. I ran for the hill, Just when it got good. Cause nothing lasts forever, That’s what I remember. We lived, Rinsed and Repeated.
